Or, you could try your skills at ice climbing. The glacier has ice walls of different shapes and sizes and Iceland Rovers have the knowledge to find the perfect challenge for your group. Why not enjoy some refreshments while up in this unique environment? A buffet with a mixture of something warm and cool might be just what you need.

A Glacier Walk is a great way to experience Icelandic Nature. Our Glacier Walk on crampons is safe and easy. After walking only a short distance up the ice field a wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges and deep crevasses await your discovery. Keep in mind that Icelandic Rovers have the knowledge and training to find the perfect challenge for you and your group on the Glacier. This could be a day tour from Reykjavík or a part of a larger program.

Note: We are not bound to Sólheimajökull for our Glacier Walks. We can be very flexible and just for an example we could operate the Glacier Walk from our base in Skaftafell National Park just underneath the highest summit of Iceland Hvannadalshnúkur.

Hot spring Hike

Iceland is richer in hot springs and high-temperature geo-thermal activity than any other country in the world. In a short distance from Reykjavík lies the Hengill Volcano geothermal area. An easy hike takes you through a landscape shaped by geothermal activity, where the view of boiling hot springs and bubbling mud pools awaken your imagination. The hike continues down through Reykjadalur (e. the Smokey Valley) where it is possible and highly recommended to enjoy a natural bath in a warm stream. This is a great half-day trek(4-5hours) that everyone can participate in. Get in touch with the pure Icelandic nature on your own two feet.

Note: This tour can be combined with lots of other tours such as short Glacier Walks, Caving, whale watching, Sea Angling, horse back riding and more. Hot springs are to be found all over Iceland and are very often a hidden secret of the locals. Special hot spring hunts can be provided by Iceland Rovers.

Many lava caves have been discovered all over the country and some of them are easily accessible for individuals and groups of different sizes. This adventures journey takes you to one of the many lava caves in the Bláfjöll mountain range, just east of Reykjavík. There you will find out how lava caves are formed and discover the beauty of stalagmites and stalactites. This is a 1/2 day tour that takes you through the hidden beauties of the underworld.

For a more adventurous ride, take a modified 4x4 up on the top of the century old ice of a glacier down to the black sandy beaches right by the powerful Atlantic ocean.

Fimmvörðuháls Volcano – Superjeep and Hiking

Explore the grounds of the 2010 Volcano Eruption in the surroundings of Eyjafjallajökull. The Super Jeeps take you up to about 800m altitude and from there we walk for about an hour to reach the craters Magni and Móði (1100m). These are the craters that erupted just before the principal crater of Eyjafjallajökull. Under these new grounds, fresh lava is still steaming and glowing under the surface giving you a sence of the forces of nature at work. Afterwards it´s ideal to go down to the black sandy beaches to admire the beauty and power of the North Atlantic Ocean. This could be a day tour from Reykjavík or a part of a larger program.

Enjoy the breathtaking nature of Landmannalaugar, take a bath in a warm natural pool and have us set up an Icelandic luxurious gourmet buffet in the highlands. Dive or Snorkel in the world famous Silfra

The Silfra rift is an absolute world class dive site due to two main reasons. First of all you will be diving in a crack between the American and Eurasian continents. It's the place where the continental plates meet and drift apart about 2cm per year. Secondly the visibility that you will experience will rarely be surpassed, if ever. 100m+! The Silfra water is as pristine as water can get and you can drink it at anytime during the dives. The National park Thingvellir has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, both for its cultural & historical significance as well as natural & geological uniqueness. Silfra is only 50 km from Reykjavík (30 miles). This is about a half day tour.

Note: No experience or licenses are required for Snorkeling. For Diving you need minimum experience and a diving license (Padi or similar). All the activities in Silfra are done in dry- suites, that way you´ll keep as dry and warm as possible.

This opportunity gives you the change to catch fish like cod, haddock, Pollock, catfish and if the luck is with you, even a giant halibut. All the equipment needed for fishing is provided along with the guidance of experienced sea-anglers. The catch of the day can be barbequed on board if the group wishes.

Get the feel of a luxurious helicopter ride in Iceland. The view from above can very often give you a totally different perspective of places. We can have a helicopter meet our group anywhere at any time to take your group up in the sky for a different look of the landscape. Have the helicopter take you to the sites of the Volcano eruption in Eyjafjallajökull 2010 and see the steaming crater with your own eyes.

The flights can vary from 10 min up to 1 hour. The price is most often based on the location and the length of each flight.

Golf Tours

Where else in the world can you go golfing at midnight? In Iceland we have about 80 golf courses spread around the country and many of them are 18 holes. The scenery around the golf courses is very often spectacular, offering you a view of colorful mountains, glaciers, geysers, rivers, Glacier Rivers and so on. The Golf courses usually open in and around April and close again in the end of September. Plan a midnight sun golf round/or tournament for your incentive group.
