6-days knitting and walking in the Icelandic winter
This amazing tour will take us to the Highlands in Landamannalaugar where nature offers striking contrasts and incredibly diverse volcanic landscapes: craters, lava fields, gorges and canyons where thick steam curls burst out of the entrails of Earth. Known to summer guests for colorful landscapes and amazing geothermal activity, in winter, the region regains its calm and serenity. The days are short and the nights deep blue, northern lights dance on the top of the mountains. It is an extraordinary adventure open to only a few. We’ll enjoy knitting peacefully in this environment and stargazing in the night in the natural hot pool while Hélène gives us an insight in the Icelandic knitting tradition. Accommodation in confortable and spacious mountain huts.
Bring your companion with you! Non-knitters are most welcome and will be able to take short walks or simply relax during the knitting workshops. They can also register to the Cross-country skiing Landmannalaugar in Winter tour that takes place at the same dates.
Knitters will have the possibility to join the Cross country skiing group for a couple of day tours if they wish, but they have to bring their skiing equipment with them (see Landmannaugar in Winter tour for more details).
