4-day Knitting in the magical Icelandic night
This long kintting week-end in Iceland is a magical combination of Icelandic knitting, nature and culture. It coincides with the Craft and Design Fair, a unique opportunity to meet with local designers. In November there is only 4-5 hours of day light but the sky takes on magical colors from what seems to be an endless sunrise quickly replaced by a magnificient sunset. Away from the city lights, we will most likely spot the magical Northern lights and one of the most expansive view of Iceland (the islands of Vestmannaeyjar, the Eyjafjallajökull volcano, the well-known mountains of Tindfjöll and Hekla). It may be sunshine, it may snow or rain, it may be warm or windy, or not, or all that in just one day. All the way, Hélène will give us an insight into the Icelandic knitting tradition and we’ll learn new and old techniques. Accommodation in a comfortable country guest house.
Bring your companion with you! Non-knitters are most welcome and will be able to take short walks or go horseback-riding on the premises during the knitting workshops. The guest-house is very friendly with a outdoor hot tub and different animals.
