An unusual take on a classic theme - Gullfoss and Geysir with a 4x4 jeep safari that will allow you to see the golden waterfall from a very different point of view accessible to only a few!

On this adventure jeep tour we start with a visit to the Geysir geothermal area, home of the great Geyser and his neighbor Strokkur geyser that erupts with 3 to 7 minutes intervals, and a classic view of Gullfoss. However this is where we head off the beaten track. Finding our way over the mighty Hvítá river we follow a track to approach Gullfoss on the opposite side. We need to walk a bit (1km) to reach a point where we can see the waterfall as it comes cascading down the white colored river. But there are more waterfalls and canyons waiting our discovery as we continue our travel on back roads and fording rivers. We descend down to Þjórsárdalur valley for a visit of the archeological site Stöng, a farm that was a victim of the eruption of Hekla in 1104 and the Settlement farm, a reconstruction of Stöng. Return to Reykjavík in the late afternoon.
