Mountain Hekla, Landmannalaugar, Craters and Volcanic Landscape.
This
is a unique and unforgettable Iceland tour through some very rugged
terrain in the southern highlands of Iceland. We start by heading to
the foot of Mt. Hekla where the landscape is shaped by centuries of
volcanic activity. In our jeep we climb as high as 1000 m (3280') above
sea level to enjoy fascinating view over the Torfajökull area and
weather permitting, some of Iceland’s glaciers as well.
We are now in of the largest geothermal areas in Iceland
where fire and ice shape the landscape. We will visit the
Hrafntinnusker area and end in Landmannalaugar where a warm bath in a
natural pool is optional before heading back to Reykjavik. This is a
land of unreal beauty with steaming hot springs, glacier ice and
explosive craters, and an amazing range of colors.
