Hi,
Last
Monday morning, as I had just arrived to Reykjavík – in the middle of
the night, actually – expecting to go on a “Silver Circle” tour, I
received the message that I had been re-booked to an upgraded tour,
since I was the only person booked for the Silver Circle.
It became a most memorable day!
I
want to thank you for your consideration, suggesting this tour, which
included Langjökull, a terrain walk to a new waterfall, a visit to
Deildartunguhver etc.
Possibly I would have got a
little more foot-walking on the tour I had initially booked, but I doubt
that the sights and the conversation would have matched what I actually
got. I must say that it gave me a feeling of luxury to have a guide
and driver for just two persons, but the company turned out most
enjoyable and stimulating.
In particular I want to thank Vidar, the guide and driver, for sharing his knowledge and experiences so generously with us.
Ever since I first visited
Iceland, many years ago, and rode around the country in a tourist coach I
have wanted to get out into that magnificent landscape, not just
watching it from a coach window.
When we passed Mount Esja on our
way back to Reykjavík, Vidar mentioned that it is a popular excursion
goal for the local population. A few days later, I climbed it in the
company of an Icelandic colleague!
I
certainly hope to return to Iceland and experience more of its
spectacular landscape. Then I will definitely consider your excursion
programme.
